DR Golf Open 2014 in Casa de Campo
The PGA tour Golf will be held from 12 to 18 May 2014 in Casa de Campo. With this event the Federation of Dominican Golf officially opens the season of the sport in the country that will have US$150,000 in awards.
A total of 140 golfers of United States, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Uruguay Panama and the Dominican Republic will participate.
The president of the entity John Cohen said that the stellar players that participate will be defying the already famous and challenging field of Teeth of the Dog golf course in Casa de Campo.
“There Will Be a tour of the Golf courses of that area of the country, to the delight of the amateur golfers, playing the Pro Am and taking advantage of the unforgettable experience of sharing a round of golf with a first-level professional who you could later see in the big tent of the PGA TOUR”, he said. This type of event contributes to achieving the goal as we propose as a nation, because we have in the country an idle installed capacity of more than 600 thousand rounds of golf per year which can attract around a million of tourists from a segment as attractive as this”.
The event will enjoy the presence of the leading figures in Golf, including Jack Warfield, President of the Latin American PGA Tour.
