Casa de Campo DR Open 2015 of the PGA Tour Latin America
The Dominican Federation of Golf (Fedogolf) unveiled the details of the “Casa de Campo Dominican Republic Open 2015”, the fourth edition being held under the scheme of the PGA Tour Latin America, and the sixth edition since it began in 2010.
The tournament will be played from 1st – 7th June 2015 which will be held for the second year at the legendary and world famous golf course Teeth of the Dog, Casa de Campo where 144 professional golfers will attend from the United States and Latin America.
The tournament has a total prize pool of US$ 175,000, which will be distributed to the winners, and it is sponsored by the Dominican Ministry of Tourism, Banco Popular, Casa de Campo, and several private sponsors.
The keynote address was given by Mr. Rafael Villalona Calero, President of Fedogolf, who stressed the importance of this activity to promote the country’s project “Marca País”.
Villalona also said that “the organizational process is on track to meet the expectations of our visitors in June, and thus further increase our ambassadors, who are the players and those who promote our fields abroad.
Mr. Jack Warfield, President of the PGA Tour Latin America, stated, “he wants to see a Dominican player enter the PGA Tour using as platform this circuit. We are very pleased with the confidence that the Ministry of Tourism has deposited in Fedogolf and the PGA Tour as a means of promotion. ”
